My Intro

I have been contemplating a blog for some time now. I guess it is never too easy to figure out how to put your thoughts into words. I have never been one to organize my thoughts enough to sound eloquent and smooth. I am your average writer, with a little clumsy mistakes here and there. I will try to write as organized as possible. If I should sound incoherent from time to time, please forgive me. It may be that I am just putting to good use all of the vocabulary lessons my toddler Adam gives me on a daily basis. Then there could be the juggling act called parenting thats seems to attack the part of the brain that deals with sanity. Also, I could blame the ADD that takes over from time to time! Okay, I may not have been diagnosed with ADD but hell, three kids; ages 1, 5, 8. Two are boys I might add, working full time and somehow I have passion to excersize, knit, crochet, bake and do this blog. Okay, maybe ADHD...... Well, what ever I have, I won't change my life for one second. I love my babies, I have an amazing DH who inspires me and spoils me, and I have access to way too much Yarn! :)

On another note,
I have also decided to make this Blog as a way for my readers to be inspired by my craft of knitting and maybe want to pick up some sticks yourself, or just give me an email to create that one of a kind beret or cardigan for you. Maybe you have babies that are in desperate need of a handmade blanket, because who is not in desperate need of one! ;0)

It has been some time since I have been able to post anything. Nursing school has really taken up most of my life. The last time I picked up a project to knit was about two years ago when I made a blanket for my newborn niece. Time has gone by and as I wait for my authorization to test for my boards, I think it is time to pick up some unfinished projects. I need to calm my brain from all the waiting and waiting to test. I want to start practicing in a hospital and help the people who need my skills. But everything takes time. So while I wait I will knit.

Amanda's baby layette set

I made this layette set for my friend Amanda's first baby girl. The pattern is called pretty feathers and fans from leisure arts, Our best knit afghans. I used a velvet ribbon to complement the baby coordinates yarn. I love the feel of this yarn so soft and cuddly. the buttons are little pink roses. I wish I would have gotten a close up of them ;). I might use them again on the next baby girl project in the works ;).

HoneyComb Baby Blanket

This is a honeycomb pattern blanket for a baby boy due in December. The yarn is Bernat Baby Coordinates on a size 9 Circular. I loved the feel of the yarn. The pattern called for a knit border but instead of stressing over trying to pick up all of those stitches I used a double crochet border instead. I liked the way it came out :).
